We’re now just 12 months away from the official BA cyber-attack compensation deadline for the formal Group Litigation Order that has been established.
By order of the High Court of Justice, in October 2018, a formal GLO was put into place. This means that all cases that form as part of this action will be managed as part of the joint proceedings. Our firm has been appointed to the Steering Committee that’s responsible for the overall conduct of the litigation, and the deadline to join was set for 17th January 2021.
You may not be worried about the deadline given how far away it is. You should take heed of it, and there’s really no reason as to why you should delay starting your case.
Whatever you do, don’t miss out on your chance to claim by letting the BA cyber-attack compensation deadline expire before you start your case.
Although we have just under a year to go, there’s more to it than just signing-up with a firm or registering your information. To be able to be a part of any formal action, you need to have complied with the court’s requirements. This may mean ensuring there’s certain evidence and information submitted in time. It usually also means having the resources to pursue a claim, and protection for if you lose.
For the latter, funding and insurance is what you need. We can offer this now for our clients as we already have it established, and this works with our No Win, No Fee representation.
We often warn potential clients about the deadlines and the fact that they miss them. Sometimes, people don’t take the warnings seriously, and they end up with problems later down the line.
Just today we received yet another enquiry for a previous action where the deadline expired over a year ago. Some people say they didn’t know they could claim or didn’t know about the deadline. Whether that’s true or not, we must turn them away. We expect the same will apply for the BA cyber-attack compensation deadline, and that some people will miss out.
We have even had new enquiries from people where the deadline passed over five years ago. Most people are generally not happy when we must turn them away, but there’s nothing we can do. We will also normally close our books for new cases in advance of the final deadline to make sure our cases are properly prepared as well. This is also something to take into account.
There shouldn’t be anything stopping you from starting your claim now to make sure that you definitely don’t miss the BA cyber-attack compensation deadline.
Getting started is easy. You can sign-up for a case with us via the BA Group Action website here, and the process is quick and hassle-free.
With our No Win, No Fee protection in place, together with the insurance we have, what have you got to lose? Why wait when you can secure your place now to make sure that you don’t fall foul of any deadlines?
There may also be developments between now and then that we can keep you involved with as well, so starting a case sooner rather than later can be beneficial.
